Two weeks ahead of release date, Microsoft launches a free demo to test some of Forza’s 460 playable vehicles.

Microsoft has deployed the demo build for its upcoming Xbox One racing sim, Forza Motorsport 6, across North America and Europe.

Weighing at 12.67 GB, the free demo gives players the chance to play a small selection of cars. A grand total of 460 vehicles will be available in the final retail version, which is set to go on general release on September 15. The demo also showcases the game’s working cockpits, damage modelling tech, wet weather, and night racing effects, all displayed at 1080p60.

Forza Motorsport 6’s career mode can stretch as long as 70 hours of play, according to developer Turn 10 Studios.

The game’s official release date is September 15 in North America, and September 18 in Europe. Those who buy the $100 Ultimate Edition can play five days earlier, however.

Meanwhile, Microsoft is releasing a $400 special edition Xbox One 1 TB console themed around the game.
