PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds (better known as PUBG) is tipped for an imminent launch on the PS4.
The news comes two years after the game launched on PC, and one year after a console-exclusive release on the Xbox One.
This meant PS4 players felt left out, unable to access one of the world’s most popular multiplayer games.
Now video game analyst Daniel Ahmad claims that PUBG will arrive on PS4 in December.
A separate report by Eurogamer said it “understands this to be true”, but didn’t name a source.
Given that December will mark a one-year run for the Xbox exclusive, it’s possible Microsoft had only signed a 12-month exclusivity deal.
For the unaware, PUBG is a battle royale game made by a South Korean game company called Bluehole.
Like Fortnite, PUBG’s battle royale gameplay involves landing on an island and fighting off 99 other players to become the last person standing.
Players are tasked with gathering weapons and supplies to maximise their chances of survival.
