Sony look set to announce a new PS4 console later this month following the leak of a new Gold coloured 1TB PS4 Slim.

Photos of the new gold-coloured PlayStation 4 popped up on Reddit last night courtesy of a store worker from Target, a US retailer.

If you haven’t guessed already, Sony is yet to actually announce a new gold console PS4, but the company does have form of releasing gold coloured products, with several Dual Shock 4 controllers and headsets released in past years.

According to the Target store worker who took the picture of the box and posted them on Reddit, this new gold PS4 will go on sale on 9th June.

So far there’s no rumours or hints at Sony releasing a gold coloured PS4 Pro, but the Gold PS4 Slim looks like it will be boxed alongside a gold DualShock controller, which as mentioned, you can actually already buy separately.

Intriguingly, if these rumoured dates are correct, this new PS4 will release before Sony give their E3 2017 press conference, and that could tell us a lot about what we might see on the day.

Clearly, a new PS4 isn’t high profile enough for Sony to warrant mentioning during their E3 2017 press conference. But then again, Sony could have PLENTY more to announce, show and tease during the event.

First off the bat, we’re likely to see something with relation to games announced at E3 2016, with fans hoping for more info on God of War, Days Gone, Spider-Man, Gran Turismo Sport and Detroit: Become Human.

Likewise, it would be foolish to assume that Sony bosses won’t make a series of announcements about PlayStation VR, no doubt looking back on its opening few months and teasing fans with where the virtual reality device could be headed in the months ahead.
