DICE has confirmed Battlefield V’s battle royale mode Firestorm will be released in two weeks’ time, and will be free to all players. The developer has announced the mode’s release date as Monday, 25 March in a new trailer, which shows off a highly destructible environment and warfare in helicopters, boats, tanks, and tractors. The shrinking play field customary to all battle royale modes is portrayed as an actual ring of fire, which looks a lot more cinematic than in any similar game. Firestorm, which boasts 64 players at once, allows you to jump into the fray solo or as part of a squad. You can also unlock stronger vehicles with ‘breakouts’ across the map.

The new mode will be hoping to create a second wave of interest for Battlefield V, after EA previously admitted that sales missed their targets. The trailer is not the one that leaked last week, which seems to be more of a tutorial video and for some reason is still live on EA’s servers.
