Call of Duty WW2 remains a top selling title following its successful launch on PS4, Xbox One and PC.

The latest stats have revealed that it has taken the popular new COD a very short amount of time to cement its place at the top of the charts.

The NPD Group’s rankings for video game sales shows that the latest installment of the long-running franchise was November’s top-selling title, and also 2017’s most popular game.

“Call of Duty: WWII generated more launch month consumer spending than any Call of Duty debut since the release of Call of Duty: Black Ops II in November 2012,” confirmed NPD’s video game industry analyst Mat Piscatella.

“Call of Duty is the top ranking revenue generating franchise in tracked history.”

But it appears that Call of Duty could be facing a new WW2 game from a big rival in 2018.

YouTuber AlmightyDaq is now claiming that the new Battlefield 2018 title will be set during WW2.

DICE Sweden are reportedly the development team in charge of the big project, which will apparently be followed by Bad Company 3 in 2019.

It’s worth noting that none of this has been confirmed by EA, so it’s worth taking it with a big pinch of salt.

No release date has been confirmed for the potential new title, so it’s unclear just how much a new Battlefield 2 launch could have on COD WW2 sales.

In other COD-related news, the Call of Duty WW2 Winter Siege event is now heading into its third week on PS4 and Xbox One.

As confirmed by Sledgehammer Games, the Winter Siege will be running until January and will include new challenges each week.

And while we’re still in Week Two, fans can still grab Double XP in the Gun Game playlist, as well as new Daily and Weekly Orders, and Contracts.

This XP bonus is available on all Wintery Gun Game maps, including Winter Carentan, from now ’til December 22.
